Designed to accommodate like a natural crystalline lens with forward movement, Crystalens Advanced Optics (AO) was the first FDA-approved accommodating IOL. The aberration-free lens has uniform center-to-edge power, producing a more natural range of vision with excellent contrast sensitivity and minimized issues with halos and glare.

  • Modified plate haptic lens with hinges across the plates adjacent to the optic enable forward movement
  • AO1UV, the 11.5 mm model, is available in powers ranging from +17 to +33 D in 0.5 D steps and +18 to +22 D in 0.25 D steps
  • AO2UV, the 12.0 mm model, is available in powers ranging from +4 to +9 D in 1.0 D steps and +10 to +24 D in 0.5 D steps
  • Silicone (10% UV Cutoff at 400nm)

I have had good results with Crystalens IOL's using minimonovision. Most patients wear no glasses or wear 1.25 OTC readers for only small print.
