Mechanism of Action
TrueTear is a handheld intranasal tear neurostimulator with disposable tips that is inserted into the nasal cavity and uses micro-electric pulses not powerful enough to cause discomfort to induce the production of tears. Stimulation of cranial nerve VII, which innervates the lacrimal glands, temporarily increases tear production.
The EyeGiene Insta-Warmth Starter System combines a soft mask with disposable warming wafers for the application of localized heat therapy to the eyelids for the treatment of dry eye disease, meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), blepharitis, stye, and chalazia.
The Opti-Therm is a soft, anatomical eye mask with pockets to hold reusable inserts for heat or cold therapy. The red heat therapy packs are microwaved for ~20 seconds while the blue cold therapy packs are intended to be stored in a freezer.
